Getting to Our Chinatown Clinic

The nearest subway stop is East Broadway on the F line, roughly a 10 minute walk west and south to Catherine Street. Riders on the 4, 5, 6, J or Z can get off at Brooklyn Bridge–City Hall / Chambers St and walk east past Chatham Square in about 10 to 15 minutes. From Canal Street, where many lines meet, the walk down Mott or Mulberry to Chatham Square is a little longer but straightforward.

Buses save steps for many older patients. The M9 travels along East Broadway and Park Row, the M22 crosses Catherine Street on Madison Street, and the M103 runs down the Bowery to Chatham Square; all stop within a short walk of the door.

Parking in this part of Chinatown NYC is tight, with limited metered spaces and paid garages nearby but no patient lot, so transit or a drop-off usually works better. Not every nearby station has an elevator. If you need step-free access or help getting inside, let the desk know when you book so staff can be ready for you.

Insurance Accepted at Chinatown, Manhattan

Families who need a Medicaid doctor in Chinatown can use their coverage here. The Catherine Street office accepts Medicaid, Medicare and most major insurance plans, including many of the managed care plans popular in Lower Manhattan. Every plan sets its own network and referral rules, so please call with your member ID before your first appointment; the desk can check eligibility and let you know about any copay.

Staff can explain insurance questions in English, Chinese or Spanish. For a fuller overview of billing, self-pay and what to bring, visit our insurance information, and when you are ready, you can request an appointment online.

Serving Chinatown & Nearby Neighborhoods

Because the clinic sits at the eastern edge of Chinatown, it works well as a doctor near Two Bridges and the surrounding downtown blocks:

  • Two Bridges – most residents between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges can walk over in about 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Lower East Side – the F train to East Broadway or a walk down Essex or Clinton Street takes roughly 10 to 20 minutes.
  • Financial District – a lunch-hour visit is realistic, about 15 to 20 minutes on foot heading north on Pearl Street.
  • South Street Seaport – walk north along the waterfront or Water Street and turn up Catherine Street, about 15 minutes.

Coming from Staten Island? We do not have a Staten Island office, but many island patients make the trip here: take the Staten Island Railway to St. George, ride the ferry to Whitehall, then continue by subway or bus to Chatham Square. Our Staten Island travel guide covers each neighborhood, including New Dorp and Great Kills.
