Locations & Hours
City Prime Care is a primary care practice with two clinics, so the first question is usually which one is closer. Our Elmhurst clinic at 41-02 75th St serves Queens neighborhoods such as Jackson Heights, Sunnyside, Astoria, Long Island City and Maspeth, a short walk from the 74 St–Broadway subway hub. Our Chinatown clinic at 75 Catherine St serves Manhattan, from Two Bridges and the Lower East Side to the Financial District, and it is also where our Staten Island patients are seen. Each clinic keeps its own phone line, hours and care team, so you always reach the front desk that actually knows your appointment. If you are searching for primary care near me, the answers below explain where each clinic is, when it is open and how to get there by subway.
Appointments
Most visits start with a phone call or an online request, and both clinics keep time aside every weekday for patients who feel unwell and need to be seen soon. If you need a same day doctor appointment in NYC, call your nearest clinic in the morning and the front desk will tell you the first open slot. Routine check-ups, follow-ups and screenings are best booked a few days ahead, which lets us set aside the right amount of time and, for some visits, tell you whether to fast beforehand. When you book online you choose your clinic first, so the request goes straight to the team who will see you.
Insurance & Billing
Many patients look for doctors that accept Medicaid in NYC, and questions about coverage come up at almost every first visit. We work with Medicaid and Medicare plans and most major commercial insurance at both clinics, and our front desk checks your coverage before you are seen, so costs are explained up front rather than after the fact. Plans change every year, which is why we always ask you to call with your plan name and member ID before a first appointment. If you do not have insurance, you can still be seen; ask about self-pay rates when you book.
Services
Both clinics offer the same thirteen primary care and wellness services, from routine check-ups and preventive screenings to chronic condition care, women’s and men’s health, diagnostic testing and IV therapy. Your primary care provider is the person who coordinates all of it: they order the tests, explain the results and, when you need a specialist, arrange the referral and stay involved afterwards. Each service has its own page with the details, and the questions below cover what we treat, how IV drip therapy works at City Prime Care and how specialist referrals are handled from start to finish.
New Patients
New patients are welcome at both of our clinics, whether you are moving your care from another practice or looking for a primary care doctor for the first time. The first visit takes a little longer than a routine appointment because we go through your medical history, current medicines and any past test results, so that every later visit can start from what we already know. The answers below explain what to bring, how to request your records from a previous doctor, and how to choose between our Elmhurst and Chinatown clinics if both are convenient for you.
